Bill and Sue Tell live in Colorado Springs, CO and have two married sons.  They are both easterners–Bill growing up in New York and Sue in New Jersey.  They both came to Christ and met The Navigators while students at Hope College in Holland, MI.  Bill graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Sue in elementary education.  Bill worked for Dow Chemical, attended seminary and then joined the staff of The Navigators in 1972.

 

Bill led The Navigator collegiate ministry at the University of Illinois at Urbana from 1972–1981.  From 1982–1988, he served as State Director for IL and was involved in the student ministry at Bradley University.  In 1988 the family moved to Sacramento, CA where Bill directed the ministry in California and the Pacific Northwest.  He assumed the role of Associate U.S. Collegiate Director in 1991, then served on the National Leadership Team from 1998–2011 serving as the Student Ministry Director, Deputy US Director and Chief of Staff.

 

Bill became involved with the TrueFace team in 2000 as they guided him through depression and burnout. Since then Bill has been involved helping teach TrueFaced Intensives and other TF training sessions, as a guest blogger and podcast participant, and faculty for the CHTL certificate course.  Bill currently is currently a member of The Navigators’ Learning and Development team and serves as a US Staff Development Specialist.  He is the author of Lay it Down – Living in the Freedom of the Gospel.
